Why there is no thundr app in the store

Search for a thundr app and you will not find ThundrGirl sitting in the App Store or Google Play — on purpose. The whole product runs as a web app in the browser you already have. The camera, the matching, the coins, everything works from a URL, the same on a three-year-old Android as on a new iPhone.

A web app is not a consolation prize. It opens full-screen, keeps you signed in, sits on your home screen with its own icon, and launches straight into matching. What it skips is everything people hate about store apps: the download bar, the store account, the permission lecture, and the update that waits until you are in a hurry.

On iPhone, the install takes two taps: open ThundrGirl in Safari, tap the Share button, choose Add to Home Screen. Done — the icon behaves like any other app, launching full-screen with no browser bars.

On Android it is just as short: open the site in Chrome, tap the three-dot menu, choose Add to Home screen (some phones say Install app). Chrome builds a real icon, and from then on ThundrGirl opens like a native app — its own window, its own spot in your recent apps.

The storage math is the best part. The app takes 0 MB because nothing is installed; the site loads fresh each time, and your favorites and call history live on your account rather than on the phone. Lose the phone, and nothing personal goes with it.

One honest caveat: a browser app lives and dies by its tab. If your browser is the kind that kills background tabs aggressively, keep ThundrGirl pinned or added to the home screen — launched from the icon, it runs in its own window and the system treats it like any other app.

What the web app gets you

0 MB of storage

Nothing downloads, nothing installs, nothing sits in your storage settings eating space next to old photos.

No store account

No Apple ID prompt, no Google sign-in, no card on file with a store. You arrive, you match, that is the whole relationship.

A real home screen icon

Add to Home Screen gives ThundrGirl its own icon that launches full-screen — indistinguishable from a native app in daily use.

Always the latest version

Web apps update themselves. You never see an update spinner or a "please update to continue" wall.

Same app on every device

Phone browser, work laptop, tablet — the same ThundrGirl, the same account, no syncing ritual between them.

Free to start

Opening matches cost nothing and no card is asked. Coins come later only if you want more time, priced before you confirm.

A web app versus a store app

A web app (ThundrGirl)

Runs in the browser, pins to your home screen in two taps, takes 0 MB and never asks for a store account. Updates itself silently.

A store app

Downloads megabytes, wants a store login, nags for permissions and updates — and still ends up doing what a browser tab already could.
